PIA Restarts Faisalabad Hajj Flights After Four-Year Suspension

Pakistan International Airlines has officially recommenced its Hajj flight operations from Faisalabad International Airport, marking the end of a four-year suspension.

The inaugural flight departed with 150 pilgrims on board, heading towards Medina. The departure ceremony was attended by Commissioner Musarrat Jabeen and Member of Provincial Assembly Ahmed Shahryar, who bid farewell to the travelers.

Officials have confirmed that a total of 3,680 pilgrims will be transported to Saudi Arabia through 23 scheduled flights, with operations continuing until May 19.

As part of the Hajj arrangements, the airline plans to operate 15 flights from Faisalabad to Medina and nine flights to Jeddah.

The last flight under this schedule is expected to take off on May 19, concluding the operation.

Meanwhile, the first batch of Hajj pilgrims departing from Karachi reached Medina on April 18. The group, consisting of 155 individuals, received a warm reception upon arrival.

Senior officials, including Director General Hajj Abdul Wahab Soomro, were present to welcome the pilgrims.

The arrival was marked by a celebratory atmosphere, featuring traditional Saudi hospitality with flower garlands, gift distribution, and cultural performances accompanied by rhythmic duff music.

Pilgrims have been accommodated in the central Markaziya area of Medina. To ensure ease of movement and access to facilities, NUSUK cards were promptly issued upon their arrival.
