Karachi police recover body of missing businessman from residential flat

Karachi police have recovered the body of a businessman who had been missing for several days, in a case that has raised serious concerns about kidnapping and violent crime in the city.

Officials at Joharabad Police Station in Central Karachi said the discovery was made after an arrested suspect, Syed Faisal Akram, provided crucial information during interrogation. Acting on this lead, authorities located the body inside a residential apartment.

The victim, identified as Rehan, had been missing since April 11. According to the FIR, he left his home in Federal B Area around Maghrib time, heading to his office in his car, but never returned, prompting his family to report him missing.

Initial findings suggest that Rehan was abducted before being killed. Police believe the murder may not have occurred at the same location where the body was found. Investigators suspect the body was moved and later concealed in the flat to avoid detection.

The apartment is reportedly owned by a suspect named Mujeeb, who is said to have links with the militant wing of a political group. Authorities are currently working to verify these claims as part of the ongoing investigation.

Law enforcement teams, including both operational and investigative units, are jointly handling the case. Officials noted that the body appeared to be several days old at the time of recovery.

Meanwhile, forensic experts have begun collecting evidence from the scene, and the body has been shifted to a hospital to complete medico-legal procedures.

Rehan, a resident of the Water Pump area in Federal B Area, was known for running a business dealing in laboratory machinery and supplies. Police say efforts are underway to identify all those involved and determine the motive behind the crime.
