Pakistan Reviews Regional Security, Afghanistan Situation and Iran Evacuation Plans in High-Level Islamabad Meeting

A high-level meeting to assess Pakistan’s regional and internal security situation was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The session focused on the prevailing regional environment and overall security dynamics, with particular attention to Pakistan’s role in promoting peace and stability. Participants discussed diplomatic and strategic measures aimed at strengthening regional cooperation.

The situation in Afghanistan was reviewed in detail, alongside a comprehensive briefing on Pakistan’s internal security landscape and ongoing arrangements to maintain law and order across the country.

On the Prime Minister’s directives, the meeting also evaluated steps to evacuate Pakistani nationals from Iran. Officials informed participants that evacuation efforts are being facilitated through Azerbaijan, with the Foreign Office coordinating measures to ensure the safe return of citizens.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, federal ministers, special assistants, and senior civil and military officials.
